I stumbled over this shot I took ages ago while on holiday at Mt Maunganui . It’s a little sad that the shadow was much more interesting than the floral arrangement itself.
Following on from my last post “Lily was a nice girl” I have revisited the raw files I shot and produced colour versions. Once again these were shot using a homemade lens and I have inverted the luminosity (but not the chroma) of the images.
A preview of works from a new series I am working on. Taken with my homemade lens using old glass from my grandfathers camera. I am working toward an exhibition of these as very large prints but I will do a smaller edition of each as well. Watch this space.

Pigs ear 2010
What do you do with a broken 100year old camera you find in your parents house? … Why you modify it so it fits a high spec modern digital camera of course! I am currently experimenting for a new series or two using this lens I have developed. Watch this space!

“Miss Jessie” 2009
Acrylic and oil stretched vintage curtain fabric 610 x 910
In memory of my grandmother Jessie Williams. I got her address from a postcard to her dated 9/9/1905. The vintage fabric this is painted on reminded me of her … so I thought I would give her some flowers
