Impromptu

11am Sunday 1An exhibition of my work opens in Wellington next week!

Titled impromptu, this show is a collection of unplanned photos – the sort of moments you stumble across that make you stop and say “Shit that looks great! I have got to photograph that.” And as the name suggests Impromptu has been quickly put together to make the most of a last minute opportunity at the wonderful Deluxe Cafe in Wellington.

Don’t you love it when things come together?

Impromptu is at Deluxe Cafe in the Embassy Theatre building, 10 Kent Terrace Wellington. It runs from the December 16th until Christmas.

I am still deciding of the final selection of works but here are a few that are in the running. Some new and a couple of old faves.

Deep at Deluxe

The Deep

I have a small exhibition on at Wellington’s Deluxe Cafe (the best coffee in Wellington if you ask me – in the Embassy Theatre building on Kent Terrace)

The work is an extension of the Kermadec Project. On my return to Wellington I was given the opportunity to explore  and photograph the invertebrate collection at NIWA in Evans Bay. All specimens photographed in the show were collected or can be found on the Kermadec Arc, collected from depths between 200 and 1900m.

Some of the works can be seen on a previous posting

Also on display is my hand painted Wakey Wakey Wakey poster.

And of course the main Kermadec exhibition is still currently on at City Gallery in Wellington until February.
